A private allotment owner in an allotment association dreamed of more peace and quiet, greater privacy, and an outdoor space that could be used for relaxation. However, just outside the allotment was a heavily trafficked road, and reality proved quite different: traffic noise made it almost impossible to use the garden as the refuge an allotment is meant to be.

A 22-metre noise barrier solved the problem.
A 22-metre-long ROCKWOOL® Noistop® acoustic fence, 180 cm high, was installed. Design was important: the fence was finished with wooden cladding on the garden side, giving a warm, natural appearance that blends with the allotment setting while also creating a clear boundary.
The sound-absorbing stone wool core effectively dampens disturbing sound waves and frequencies from traffic, significantly improving the acoustic environment along the road.
The result turned out to be more than just less noise.

With the fence in place, the garden became what it was intended to be: a retreat. Traffic noise feels less intrusive, and the owner can once again use the outdoor space for relaxation and everyday living.
